Jalandhar, July 25

AGI Infra Ltd, a city-based real estate group, has taken a significant step in its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts by launching AGI Welfare School aimed at providing free education to underprivileged children. The initiative is designed to remove the financial barriers that often prevent children from accessing quality education.

According to Surinder Bhambri, media director of the group, the school is unique in its approach, offering everything the students need completely free of charge. “The company covers all tuition fees, ensuring that children from financially disadvantaged families can attend school without worrying about the cost. This initiative guarantees that every child has the opportunity to receive a basic education regardless of their economic background,” he said, adding that a large number of labourers working in their firm and nearby along with domestic helps have enrolled their children.

Besides, the school supplies all necessary learning materials, including books and notebooks, free of cost to the students. This provision relieves families of the financial burden and ensures that each student has the essential tools for academic success. The school also addresses the clothing needs of its students by providing uniforms, shoes, and socks.

Abhijit Singh, director of the group, highlighted another key feature of the school — the provision of nutritious mid-day meals. Every day, students receive a healthy lunch, which is crucial for their physical and cognitive development. The initiative not only improves the overall health of children, but also helps them concentrate better on their studies by alleviating hunger.
