The Nakodar city police have booked three members of a family, including a woman on the charges of cheating, breach of trust, criminal conspiracy and house trespass.

Investigating officer (IO) Rajindar Kumar said the accused were identified as Satpal Chhabra, his son Amit Chhabra and daughter-in-law Neha Chhabra of Mohalla Palam Vihar.

Sawita Kohli of Guru Teg Bahadar Nagar Mohalla complained to the Jalandhar (Rural) SSP that the accused had sold her 3.5 marla plot and building situated in Taj City Colony in 2023 for which a Rs 13 lakh sale deed was registered. The complainant said the accused encroached her plot and cheated her of Rs 13 lakh.
