Woman loses purse to scooter-borne youths
A daylight snatching incident took place on the busy Rurka Road in Goraya on Friday evening where two unidentified youths riding a black scooter allegedly snatched a woman’s purse and fled from the spot.
According to Sarabjit Kaur, the victim, had come to Rurka Road to shop for clothes. She was standing outside a shop when the incident occurred. “I just stepped out of the shop when two young men on a black scooter approached suddenly, snatched my purse from my hand, and sped away before I could react,” she said.
The stolen purse reportedly contained cash, a mobile phone and victim’s Aadhaar card. The CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced and is being reviewed by the police.
Her husband, Roshan Lal, stated that upon receiving a call about snatching, he rushed to the spot immediately, but by then the culprits had already escaped. He filed a formal complaint with the Guraia police in this connection. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are examining CCTV footage to identify accused.
