Work at Chaheru railway station hits ops

Normal rail traffic was disrupted while train services will be impacted from today till November 29 due to construction and development work at Chaheru railway station on Phagwara-Jalandhar rail section.

The disruption will affect 122 trains, including 58 cancellations, 16 short-terminated or short-originated, and 48 rescheduled trains. Besides, 20 local trains will face disruptions extending till December.

Meanwhile, railway sources said the cancelled trains include 22429/22430 Pathankot-Delhi; 14505/14506 Amritsar-Nangal Dam; 12460/12459 Amritsar-Old Delhi; 14681/14682 Jalandhar-Old Delhi; 04652/04651 Amritsar-Jaynagar; 04653/04654 Amritsar-Jalpaiguri; 04624/04623 Vaishno Devi-Varanasi Express.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
