Wrestling tourney in memory of Sahibzadas on Dec 28
To be held at village of Chak Hakim near Phagwara
The village of Chak Hakim near Phagwara will host a wrestling tournament on December 28 dedicated to the memory of the Sahibzadas.
The event is being organised by the Bharat Kesari Pehlwan Pritpal Wrestling Akhara, Chak Hakim, in collaboration with the village panchayat and local residents. Sarpanch Varun Bangar and renowned wrestler Pritpal of Phagwara said the tournament would feature the participation of international-level wrestlers, which was expected to be a major attraction for spectators. Matches would be held across multiple weight categories, and winners and runner-ups would receive attractive cash prizes.
Preparations for the event began today, with the village panchayat and local volunteers carrying out a cleanliness drive at the wrestling ground. JCB machines were used to clear unwanted trees, grass and weeds from the arena. Organisers stated that special arrangements for seating and food would be made for spectators to ensure they could enjoy wrestling bouts comfortably.
