Youth Cong activists burn PM Modi’s effigy

Workers of the Youth Congress held a protest here today and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after Yes Bank was placed under a moratorium on Thursday and alleged that the PM and his ideas had destroyed the country’s economy.

Angad Dutta, president, Youth Congress, said the BJP government had been in power for six years. “Their ability to govern and regulate financial institutions stands exposed. Firstly, it was PMC Bank. Now, it’s Yes Bank. The Finance Minister and the BJP-led Central Government tried to shift the blame on bad loans of the UPA government but they failed to explain how the loan amount raised from Rs 55,633 crore to Rs 2,41,499 crore in five years.”

He said the role of the government was to provide a solution not to announce problems. For how long citizens of the country bear the burden of the government’s mismanagement.

Sunny Kumar, president, Youth Congress, Jalandhar North, said the present Union Cabinet was the most incompetent Cabinet of all times.

“People are worried if their money is safe or not while the Finance Minister is busy playing blame games,” he said.

Jalandhar Central youth Congress president Parveen Kumar, Bob Malhotra, Jasskaran Sohi, Charanpreet Singh Channi, Jai Abhishek Bhagat, Vishal Kaul, Ishu Kalra, Mohit Gurdaspuria, Bunty Sharma, Rohit kumar, Vinay Kumar and Mohit Kumar were among those others present. — OC
