Youth found dead in temple

Garhshankar: A youth was found dead in a temple in Road Mazara village on the Anandpur Sahib Marg at 4:30 pm on Thursday. According to the information, village numberdar NP Kanda informed the police that when at 4:30 he went to the temple, he saw the body of the youth. The deceased has been identified as Jaswinder Singh Manku (27) of Saroya village. Jaswinder Singh was a labourer and had returned from Jordan a few months ago. The rope marks on the throat of the corpse suggested that he might have committed suicide. A case has been registered. OC

Mystery shrouds 65-yr-old’s death

Phillaur: A 65-year-old person was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Bilga canal. His body was fished out from the canal on Thursday. The police said the deceased has been identified as Gurchet Singh of Shahpur villag. The body of the victim has been sent for autopsy. Nirmal Singh, brother of the deceased, who said Gurchet Singh went to irrigate his fields on Wednesday evening, but did not return. A case has been registered. OC
