Youth held with 7-gm heroin in Kapurthala dist

A youngster has been arrested, and heroin has been recovered from his possession, after he attempted to flee after spotting a police patrol team in Kapurthala .

The incident occurred when a police team was conducting routine patrol duties, and spotted a youngster walking.

The man, upon noticing the police party approaching, became visibly nervous and tried to turn back in an attempt to escape.

The police team immediately apprehended him and questioned him.

He identified himself as Mohit Kumar, a resident of Kripa Nagar, Phagwara. During the search, the police recovered 7-gm heroin from his

possession. Following the recovery, the accused was taken into custody and a case under sections 21, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered against him.
