House panel invites info from public over irregularities in Jal Jeevan Mission

A House committee formed to investigate the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the Union Territory has officially invited the general public, whistleblowers, and stakeholders to come forward with any information or complaints.

National Conference chief spokesman and MLA Tanvir Sadiq said information can be emailed or sent by post to the Chairman, House Committee-JJM, J&K Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Srinagar within 15 days of the notice.

“Alternatively, you can reach out directly to any member of the committee to report any wrongdoing or irregularities,” he said, adding “Let’s ensure transparency and accountability. If you know something, speak up.”

“This is a crucial opportunity for us all to get to the bottom of these issues,” he stated on X.

Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather had in March announced the formation of a House committee to investigate the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the Union Territory.

The Committee held its meetings on May 22 and June 20 at Srinagar and solicited complete record from the Jal Shakti Department in respect of implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the Union Territory.
