Docs heave a sigh of relief as AIIMS INI CET exam date released

Exam to be conducted on July 22

Doctors hoping to pursue postgraduate studies in medicine had demanded postponement of the Institutes of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET 2021). After the orders from Supreme Court the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) which conducts the entrance exam for postgraduate medicine, announced new dates for the exam today i.e. June 19, 2021.

Before, INI CET 2021 was scheduled for June 16, 2021 which will now be conducted on July 22, 2021. The admit cards for the revised dates will be released on July 15,2021 as per the revised schedule.

The INI CET is the exam for admission to postgraduate courses in leading government medical institutes in the country including AIIMS, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) Puducherry and National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS) in Bengaluru. The INI-CET regulates admission to around 800 seats for which more than 80,000 candidates appear.

Doctors were confused regarding the dates of the exam. This decision, however, has brought relief to the aspirants. Last time when the dates were announced doctors hardly had 10 days for preparation and the decision came as a rude surprise for them. But as per the revised date, they have almost one month for preparation.

Commenting on this Gaurav Tyagi, Founder- Career Xpert said, “This is a good decision. Now,the aspirants will have a month's time to prepare properly for this test, which gives them ample time to revising the whole syllabus.”
