MSc. in Mechatronics Engineering

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), Israel, is inviting applications for its newly launched master’s programme in Mechatronics Engineering. The new programme is offered by the department of Mechanical Engineering.

Mechatronics Engineering is a relatively new engineering field, designed to meet the growing need for integration of various engineering fields. It is a combination of electrical engineering, electronics, computer, and mechanical engineering. This integration is necessary in the design and manufacture of mechanical systems that integrate computers and electronic components, such as: robotic systems, missile control and steering systems, automatic production systems and more.

The master's degree programme in Mechatronics engineering offered by BGU is an interdisciplinary programme that combines courses from various engineering departments- mechanical, electrical & computer engineering along with industrial and management engineering. The purpose of the programme is to enable students to solve engineering problems between complex areas. It provides the tools necessary for the dynamic analysis of mechanical systems as a basis for the design and implementation of control systems, a systematic understanding of closed-loop control systems, and the design of control loops.

Program delivery:  The M.Sc. degree requirements include the successful completion of 8 courses aimed at establishing the necessary advanced background in robotics, control, and estimation theories, as well as carrying out a research project culminating in a full M.Sc. thesis within 2 academic years (4 semesters).

 Admission cycle:

 Course dates:  October 2021

Application deadline: June 30, 2021

 Admission requirements:

A BSc. degree in engineering, physics, or computer science from an accredited institution at a minimum GPA of 80/100.

A TOEFL score of at least 85/120 or the equivalent score in an internationally recognised English proficiency exam is required. The English proficiency requirement is waived for applicants who received their B.Sc. degree in a program taught in English

GRE is recommended but not required.

An international applicant should contact a potential advisor prior to applying to the MSc. programme.

Fee:  Tuition is approximately $ 5,000 (US) per year. Outstanding students may be eligible for scholarships, which cover tuition fees and provide living expenses.
