The General Aptitude Tests in Engineering (2020) was held on February 2,2020. The exam is a gateway to securing admissions in post graduate programmes in IITs/NITs etc. for the purpose of getting a PSU job. This year, the exam was organised by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The Mechanical Engineering exam, which was held in two slots was tough. The Electronics and Communication exam that was conducted in a single slot was easy as compared to last year.
Mechanical
- There were 30+ Numerical Ability Type questions. And they were lengthy in nature.
- Questions from Manufacturing Subjects had high weightage while questions from Maths Subjects were easy.
- As expected, a few questions were included from Heat transfer and Engineering Mechanics.
Electronics
- There were 23 Numerical Ability Type questions which were moderate in nature.
- Questions from Analog Circuits had high weightage
- Questions from Control Systems, Signal and Systems were Easy.
- The General Aptitude section was Easy.
As per the feedback of aspirants who have appeared for the exam, the cutoff for Mechanical exam will reduce as compared to that last year, while that for Electronics and Communication is expected to increase as the exam was easy.
