Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has found himself in a fix after sharing a song from his 2014 film, Punjab 1984, on social media.

Reportedly, Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu has raised objections over the song and has urged Punjab Chief Minister to file an FIR against Diljit for vocally supporting the demand for Khalistan.

In response to this, the actor has come forward to defend his song Rangroot by sharing a video on his social media account. As seen in the video, Diljit mentioned that he is simply confused over the fact that why the song is a problem now and wasn’t back in 2014.

The actor said that the movie and its songs were screened all over Punjab only after being approved by Censor Board. He further said that he is an Indian taxpayer, who has always stood for his state and his country in the time of need.

The movie also bagged a national award and that is exactly what surprises Diljit as to how an FIR can be lodged by the government now for something which was awarded by the government back then.
