Actor Prateik Chaudhary, who is doing a daily soap for the first time, talks about his role in the new show Sindoor Ki Keemat

Which was your last show or daily soap?

Paramavatar Shri Krishna on &TV.

After how long are you returning to TV?

I keep doing episodic shows and web shows, but a daily soap I am doing for the first time.

What is your role in Sindoor Ki Keemat?

I am playing the character of Ashwin Awasthi. He’s the parallel lead in the show. Ashwin Awasthi is the younger son of Awasthi family and shares a very good bond with his big brother, Arjun. Ashwin helps his father in family business, but he is not as successful as Arjun and happily lives under the shadow of his big brother.

What are the trends you noticed on TV, content-wise?

Earlier they used to do more content on women empowerment, family dramas, religious and historical shows, but now I can see more of sci-fi and reality shows.

How important are looks for you as an actor?

Looks are a big bonus.

What is more important— looks or talent?

Talent, without a doubt. With looks, you can reach the basic level, but if you want to crack the audition and also want to reach the top, it’s only your talent and hard work.

Would you like to do a reality show like Bigg Boss?

The only reality show I would love to do if I ever get the opportunity is Bigg Boss, only because of Salman Khan.

What are your career goals now?

To do projects with good teams and entertain audiences as much as possible.
