  • What influenced you to pursue a career in acting?

While growing up I wanted to become everything —a lawyer, doctor, cop and so on. But slowly I realised that I just wanted to look like them. Getting into different roles is what made me enter the industry and I became an actor.

  • You have played so many roles, which one is your personal favourite and why?

Be it shows like Phir Subah Hogi, Nadaan Parindey Ghar AaJaa, Ek Shringaar Swabhimaan, Piya Albelaa and Param Avataar Shri Krishna, I have played variety of roles but the closest to my heart is Haseena Malik in Maddam Sir. Because in every episode, we have a moral for the audience. I am happy that children are learning a lot from it.

  • Was playing a cop for the first time challenging?

It was challenging in the beginning. To maintain the body language was a very difficult task. But now it has become like second nature.

  • What are the key aspects that you look into before signing a project?

Firstly, I don’t want to repeat any of my characters. I always try to pick up something which is different. And the role should challenge me as an actor, so that I can make my craft stronger. Secondly, if you keep doing same kind of roles then you can’t grow as an actor.

  • What is that one thing you learnt in 2020?

That control is an illusion. We make plans but in the end jo hona hain, wahi hota hain. So live in the present and don’tworry about the future.

  • What’s your dream role?

I would like to play an action-packed Wonder Woman kind of role.
