Sham Mashalkar is really inspired by Charlie Chaplin and, thus, the actor believes that language plays a barrier when it comes to expressing oneself to the fullest. He believes that expressions are the true form to transmit feelings and emotions. Sham says, “Five years from now, I see myself doing a film where language is not a barrier. It can be a silent film or a web series where people from any part of the world can see and understand that because acting itself is a language.”

Speaking about the meaning behind his unique name, Sham says, “I really like my name. My name is Sham Mashalkar and Sham means evening. But many people spell it as Shyam. The story behind this is that my grandmother used to call me by this name. So, whenever someone calls me Sham, I go back to the old days. Among all the grandchildren, my grandmother used to love me a lot. And since she used to call me Sham, it’s the name that I kept in the industry.”
