Popular mimicry artiste Madhav Moghe, who had worked in several films, including Damini, Ghatak, Vinashak, Partner and others, passed away on July 11.

Known as duplicate Sanjeev Kumar for his style of mimicry, Moghe was battling stage-three cancer. He became a household name for playing Sanjeev Kumar’s character Thakur from Sholay in show MTV Fully Faltu. He made his Bollywood debut with 1993 film Damini.

Madhav was last seen in 2011 film Jaana Pehchana, which starred Sachin Pilgaonkar and Ranjeeta Kaur in key roles.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
