Dushasan was one of the first characters I played at the beginning of my career. I had to put on a lot of weight for it. After that, I played the character of Maharana Pratap, which again required the bulky look. Thereafter, the character of Hanuman came along, for which I had bulked up and gained muscles. Now, for the character of Bali I am maintaining the physique to bring out the fierce side of the character.

It is a lot of pressure being a daily soap actor. Initially, it is crazy when you have to shoot for 12 hours daily for seven days a week, but, eventually over a period of time, you get used to it and even start enjoying it.

What does wellness mean according to you?

I believe having a positive attitude is an essential step towards achieving overall physical and emotional wellness. Negativity, in any form, tends to impact our mind and body which in turn impacts everything that we do.

What is the activity you pursue to re-energise your mind?

I watch fitness videos of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. I also like watching inspiring videos of artistes who have risen to stardom from ground zero, as it gives me inspiration.

How is the lockdown treating you?

I am currently in Mumbai with my brother. I have been working out and maintaining my physique for the show in my building’s parking area. The lockdown for me is spending time at home with my bother as both of us are actors and we get no time otherwise.

What is the best thing to do during such times?

I think it is best to be at home. In fact, it is relaxing for me and my brother. In this phase of social distancing we should follow the rules of the Health Ministry. Stay Home, Stay Safe.
