Consistency is the key: Aditya Narayan will soon host Indian Idol’s new season
How does it feel to be back on yet another season of Indian Idol as a host?
I am extremely happy and honoured to be a part of Indian Idol again. Every season we get to see incredible talent. I always listen to them and get inspired by their stories.
How has been the response so far?
The response is amazing. Every aspiring singer in this country wants to be a part of Indian Idol. The show has given many singers to the industry. In fact, I would like to point out that the latest song I recorded was for Dil Bechara, composed by AR Rahman and my co-singer was Poorvi Koutish, who is one of the ex-contestants of Indian Idol.
Do you think the current scenario will affect registrations?
No, I don’t think so. Due to the current situation, now contestants can shoot their video and send it to us. I think it’s a fantastic way of organising the auditions.
How is it to team up with the three judges—Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya?
I have enormous respect for all three. They are such great musicians and even better human beings. Talking about my rapport with the judges it seems I and Neha are destined to be together in some way or another. I love and respect Himesh ji immensely. Vishal sir and I have become great friends.
You have sung for the show’s promo. Please comment.
Yes. It is the first time a host has presented the first look of Indian Idol. The promo was shot on green screen with very minimum people on the sets.
Any tip that you would like to share with the participants?
Be consistent, as it is the key that separates the best from the rest. When you are preparing for the audition, prepare a song which you are confident about as this would be the song that would take you ahead in the show.
