Dia Mirza and Taher Merchant join Oxfam India’s Trailwalker challenge

Actress Dia Mirza and Taher Merchant, who was the first Indian man to complete the Everest Base-camp Ultra in 2018, have joined Oxfam’s 2020 fundraiser. Oxfam India’s Trailwalker challenge dedicated itself to the cause of migrant workers whose plight post the lockdown moved millions of Indians. The virtual event that kick-started on November 20 will end on November 29. Dia took to her Twitter account and wrote, “If I told you that your walk can change lives, would you do it? #IndiaWithoutDiscrimination.”

Says Taher, “I recently took up the Oxfam Trailwalker virtual 100 km challenge and completed it in two days. I ran in solidarity with migrant workers who were stranded during these tough times.”

The funds generated will not only help Oxfam India continue the ongoing Covid-19 relief work, but also help run their #RightsOverProfits campaign.
