After a hiatus of one-and-half-year, Deep Moneey is back. This time, unlike all his famous dance numbers, he has released a romantic track, Baarish. This one is special for him for more than one reason. With Baarish, Deep is also launching a music production company called Gem Tunes.

People have known me for party anthems, but with Baarish they will know my music prowess. I can easily call it my favourite so far. — Deep Moneey

“People have known me for party anthems, but with this track they will know my music prowess, my vocals. I am more than satisfied with this song and can easily call it my favourite so far.”

The singer says it’s the lyrics that made an impression on him. “Roohkar, who has written it, is a new boy and when he read out the first few lines, I was sure of doing the song. The lyrics are different from the songs that you hear these days.”

Deep has not only picked up a new genre for his latest, but also has decided to give break to new talent through his production company. Having worked with the biggies such as Badshah, Honey Singh, Bohemia, Meet Bros and others, he thinks it is now time to introduce some fresh talent to the world of music.

“I’ve got a lot of love from all my seniors and peers, which is why I could deliver hits like Saadi Gali, Naina Da Nasha and Dope Shope. I feel I’ve now reached a stage where it is time for me to support young talent. I have found six or seven of them who are very melodious. In my upcoming songs, I will be working with them,” he says.

Deep is also venturing into Haryanvi music with a song titled Date Pe, which will release on August 6. The shoot for his next Hindi song is lined up for the mid of this month wherein he will feature Paras Chhabra and Mahira Sharma of Bigg Boss fame. And this is just the beginning. “I might have been on a break for everyone else but for me it was work as usual. I have done more than 100 songs in this time. There were days when I would create three to four dummies for a song and trash them. I am passionate about music and not a day went by where I did not create music,” he says.

Being away from the public eye was not much of a choice; it was a need of the hour. “I had to get a surgery done and then recuperation took its own time.” But there is no room for pity. “I have nothing to feel bad or invite misery in my life by thinking oh it happened to me. It is no big deal. Pain comes and goes.”

Likewise for the setback faced due to the lockdown. “Yes, I’ve missed my shows the most. There were tracks to be released but I am not alone. The whole world has suffered. Thankfully, I got time to spend with my family. I created so many songs, watched movies and focused on my health. This time has changed people’s focus from materialism to simplicity. Relationships, love and family are everyone’s priority again, so there is a lot of good. No complains.”

All geared up for his upcoming numbers, Deep has a plan in place, “I am working on getting back in shape and will soon act, till then I will feature in my videos.”
