Namit Khanna

One of India’s top supermodels Namit Khanna made his acting debut with Vikram Bhatt’s web series, Twisted. He was also seen in Sanjivani as Dr Siddhant ‘Sid’ Mathur and in Ye Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai. The actor says Buddhism keeps him grounded.

What made you take up acting?

I have been a supermodel for a while. But everything has a shelf life, especially modelling in India. So, after one point of time, I realised that I needed to move into something bigger and better.

You have been a follower of Buddhism. How did it help you amidst the chaos?

Well, Buddhism has definitely given me the grounding. It has made me realise my potential. It is important to keep a reality check and know the generic laws of life. Buddhism teaches you to tackle all the speed-breaks of life.

TV or web—which medium do you enjoy the most?

I prefer the web medium. I enjoy working on it because I understand it. And a span of 4-6 months is what I can give to any project. And on TV, it goes on and on.

Besides acting, what do you enjoy the most?

Travelling and photography.

What are the essential things that you carry when you’re travelling?

I’d definitely carry my camera. I would also pack batteries and memory cards. I would also have a quick-dry towel and dry fruits. And obviously music!

Do you have any plans to make your debut in Bollywood?

Everybody at some point would want to do a film and I have been looking forward to it too.
