Ashutosh Gowariker announces his next sports drama Toolsidas Junior

Ashutosh Gowariker and Bhushan Kumar have come together for an inspiring sports drama titled Toolsidas Junior. While Gowariker and Kumar had previously partnered for the music of Swades, this will be their first joint film production. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Rajiv Kapoor and Varun Buddha Dev. The first look poster of the film was revealed by the makers on Friday. Sharing the poster on his Twitter, Ashutosh wrote, “A music association now steps up to become a movie collaboration! Get your cue sticks ready! #ToolsidasJunior coming soon!”

The sports drama is based on the life of a snooker coach. Toolsidas Junior marks Rajiv Kapoor’s return to films after a gap of 30 years. The actor is best known for playing the male lead in Raj Kapoor’s Ram Teri Ganga Maili. The film is written and directed by Mridul, who co-wrote and co-directed Missed Call, which represented India at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006.
