n What is your role in the series Kathmandu
Connection?
I am playing the character of a CBI officer. It’s a fictional character inspired by real incidents. There’s not much I can reveal right now because it’s a thriller.
n What do you feel is the USP of this series?
It’s a great story; it is very engaging. There are many emotional layers to the characters.
n You are also a writer; how do you balance writing and acting?
Writing has been a great passion for me. I have also written some stuff commercially. I have something ready with me now and soon I will make the announcements. I have learnt how to balance it all!
n An actor like you has finally got his due in the web space – do you agree?
Absolutely! During the initial days of my career, I have done films and then there was a time when I was typecast for a certain kind of characters. Then I decided to do theatre and was satisfied. Then came the time of web series and I am happy with that!
n Whom do you consider your mentor in acting?
I am a graduate from the National School of Drama, so I consider the whole time I spent at the institute as a great learning experience. Two teachers – Robin Das and Prasanna – have been a great inspiration.
n You belong to Nainital; how much do you miss your home?
During the lockdown, I made a song on the mountains along with singer Harpreet. I have posted it on my YouTube channel. Whenever I get some time, I go back to the mountains, where my father and brother still stay.
n How do you see the future?
It looks very uncertain as of now. The only hope is the vaccine.
