Heart-warming experience

Natasha Sharma’s debut show, Na Aana Is Des Laado, is now back after eight years on popular demand. Excited about the show’s re-run, she shares her memories and fan experiences

Are you still in touch with the cast of Na Aana Is Des Laado’?

I do talk to them from time to time and whenever we do, we connect from where we left off. We all shared a phase where almost every small secret and even breakup were discussed and sorted together.

What is it about the show that makes it so appealing?

It was the subject of the show. Another factor was the combination of actors. While some were new to acting, some were revered names from the theatre. All in all, it was an unforgettable experience.

What are your fan experiences on the show?

I do not like using the term fans, but I do remember a lot of viewers did visit our show sets. The kind of response we would get from them was heart-warming. They always said that the kind of intensity I put in my character made their heart melt.

How did the audience connect with the character you played in the show?

I played the lead protagonist, Sia— a girl child born and brought up in an urban space. Knowing her roots, she worked towards bringing about a change in the lives of rural women. It reflected her fight against society and I believe a lot of women connected with Sia’s character at different stages of the show.

What are some of the best memories of shooting for the show?

I remember we had an outdoor shoot in Ravalgaon where we shot a scene near a baavdi. I had to climb more than 100 steps and keep repeating it until we got the best shot. The scene went on for a couple of days and it was a lot of hard work, but also one of the best memories.
