Actor, singer and theatre artiste Hitesh Bhojraj, who made his debut in the Bobby Deol-starrer Class of ‘83, portraying the role of inspector Vishnu Varde, had garnered quite a lot of accolades. Now he is seen in MX Player’s show Ek Thi Begum Season 2. Hitesh says, “Casting Director Rohan Mapuskar saw my work in Class of ‘83 on Netflix and felt that I fit the role of Ashwin Surve, so he immediately contacted the directors of the show, Sachin Darekar and Vishal Modhave, and asked them to watch Class of ‘83. I admire the vision of the casting director; he saw me as a cop in it and could imagine that I could play this Maharashtrian gangster. Next day I was called for a narration by the directors, followed by a reading.”

Hitesh adds, “Ashwin Surve is an upcoming gangster, who is whimsical, unpredictable, loves his friends and his community. You would want him on your side if there is a feud. The character is loosely based on a real-life gangster. For an actor it’s a dream to be playing such different roles; a cop in my first and then a gangster for my second venture.”
