I like to be in my own space, says Vivian Dsena
Vivian Dsena is a household name. With the season of reality shows around the corner, one can’t help but think if the popular actor will ever participate in shows like Bigg Boss. Here’s Vivian’s take
Post Shakti you chose to keep a low profile. What kind of work do you want to do?
I like to be in my own space. I have always taken a long break between projects because it takes a lot of unlearning after you are done playing a character for a long time.
Do you feel favouritism happens in TV industry?
It does to a certain extent but not as much as in Bollywood as one gets to hear.
Reality shows give instant stardom. What is your take?
The faster you succeed, the fastest you disappear. Whatever comes to you gradually lasts longer. If you succeed gradually, you learn a lot and it makes you a better professional.
You have done a variety of shows. So, what do you want to explore now?
I do not like to repeat myself as an actor.
You have never been a party animal and people often say that one gets work when one attends parties. What do you have to say?
Nobody has become successful by partying or socialising. If that is the case, I know many people who are party animals but they are not successful. The only place they are visible are at the events, and in photographs that come out the next day in newspapers. Success has no connection with socialising.
People assume your non-socialising behaviour as arrogance. How do you react?
We live in a democratic country and everybody has the right to express their views. There is nothing for me to react because when people don’t know me how can they judge me. The question answers itself. If ‘they assume’, who asked them to? I am not that important. Please avoid and ignore me.
What makes Vivian Dsena happy?
Spending time in my own space and with my friends who are my family.
Did the Covid scenario change you as a person?
Nothing has changed for me because social distancing is for social people, not for me. But of course, I have become more hygiene conscious.
Like other actors, do you also aim for Bollywood?
I am content with TV and never had Bollywood dreams because I never differentiated between Bollywood and TV. An actor is an actor and doesn’t matter if he is in Bollywood or television industry.
