Tell us about your debut EP, Aazad Hu Mein.

Azaad Hu Mein is a personal journey, situations which I’ve faced in life.

How did 2 Khidkiyaan happen?

I always wanted to write about the two perspectives that people usually have in almost every situation. My room has two windows and I thought it would be a great metaphor for the two perspectives, hence 2 Khidkiyaan.

You draw inspiration from Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino. Tell us more about it.

I believe that Donald Glover is the ultimate. I mean an artiste, who has won Grammys, Golden Globes, Writer’s Guild Awards, that too for not just music, but acting, stand-up comedy, writing and direction, he’s just so inspiring.

How are you spending time during the lockdown?

I’m trying to fix my sleep schedule. But mainly trying to make the most of the time I have in hand. Trying to discipline myself to sit down for half-an-hour or one hour to either write a new verse or complete an existing track. And if something clicks then I sit for longer.

What is your thought when you make music?

No particular thought as such. When I write, rather than stating facts, I try to write my truth. Also, I do not stick to any particular style of writing. I love to keep experimenting with new sounds and elements.
