About her role, Melanie says, “I am playing the character of Usha Bundela, the eldest daughter-in-law of the Bundela family. She is a devoted wife and loves her two children more than anything. For her, it's a fight for her rights. When she got married and came into this house, she thought she would get the bunch of keys (a symbol of authority and respect). But that never happened. Instead, she was treated unfairly, especially by Jagdamba Devi.”

The Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri actress further added, “As the eldest daughter-in-law, she always deserved respect and honour, but she never got it. Now, she just wants that respect from her children. She wants them to listen to her, value her words, and do things the way she wants. Going forward, my character will go through a lot of changes. She has different shades, and there will be many twists in her journey. Viewers will get to see all of it unfold gradually.”
