From Chidiya Ghar to Aladdin-Naam Toh Suna Hoga, how is it to be back on TV?

Coming back with this show is a high as this show has a humongous audience base and the actors are extremely young and fresh. It will be a different experience for me to be working with such co-stars and I’m excited for this role.

Tell us more about the role.

I accepted the role of Mallika because it is a larger-than-life character. It is clearly etched out differently, to stand out from the rest and it will be interesting to be playing such a character. Mallika is a very glamorous and confident villain, someone who would not behave like a villain but still be manipulative enough to get what she wants.

What should the viewers look forward to with Mallika’s entry in the show?

The viewers can expect more drama with Mallika’s entry as she is here to disrupt everyone’s life. I am waiting to explore myself with Mallika’s character and I am sure the audiences will also not be disappointed.

How is your look in the show?

There are various costumes for the character and all of them are different from one another. It is very difficult to manage such dresses with the huge frills.

Did you do any preparation for this role?

I have not done any preparation and I never actually do. I am a very spontaneous actor. Everybody has a different way of acting and mine is ‘on the set’.

What do you think about playing negative characters?

Being an actor, you can’t say that you want to do particular kind of roles. So, as long as my character has a potential, I am happy to play any kind of role. Acting gives an opportunity to portray various characters, something that I am not in real life.

How are you keeping yourself calm during quarantine?

What is keeping me calm is my trust factor. I believe that in these trying times we all have to work as a nation and not as an individual. I am following the rules that are set up by WHO. It is a scary situation but we must not panic.
