Let’s celebrate her
Manav Mander
It’s lockdown time and actors from Punjab share how they are spending their precious time with their families. On this Mother’s Day while some are lucky to be with their mothers, others are stuck in Mumbai, away from home.
We catch up with some Punjabi artistes to find out how they are celebrating this Mother’s Day
A meal for mom
A mother’s place in a child’s life is irreplaceable. I remember when I told my mother that I wanted to go to Mumbai to become an actor, she had complete faith in me. Even when I was struggling, she was the one who encouraged me not to give up.
I am glad that on Mother’s Day, I am with her. I would love to cook for my mother on this day. When I was shooting for Jijaji Chhat Per Hain, I couldn’t get enough time to visit my hometown and now that I have finally got the much-needed time with my mother, I am making the most of it and create beautiful memories on this day.

My mom, my friend
Mother’s Day holds a special place in my life. My mother has been my pillar of strength all along and she is like a friend to me. There is nothing I wouldn’t talk about with my mom and while we won’t be able to celebrate this day the usual way, I would love to take her out once we walk out of this testing phase. I urge everyone to cherish every moment with their mothers and make them feel special. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers.

Waiting for re-union
Mother’s Day reminds me of the time when I had told my mother that I wanted to pursue my career in the entertainment industry. I saw fear in her eyes, and also love and concern. I knew I had to prove it to her. Today, she is my biggest supporter and my favourite fan. This Mother’s Day is a little lonely as my mother is in Chandigarh and I am in Mumbai. I really miss her and the amazing meals she cooks for me. I miss her words of wisdom that always help me during the difficult times. I am eagerly looking forward to meet her.

Special gesture
Mothers are to be celebrated everyday but on this day they deserve something extra special. My mother has played a huge role in my career since my theatre days. When I was struggling, she even supported me financially. When I was young, there was a leakage near the bedside and to ensure that I sleep safe and sound, she never let me sleep on that side. That reflects the selfless love of a mother.
Now that we are locked down, I miss her and the delicious meals she cooks for me. I am eagerly looking forward to meeting her once the lockdown gets over and gift her a great piece of jewellery as she is really fond of them. To all my fans and viewers, try to make this day special for your mothers.
