Seeing those familiar lanes of the city on TV holds a different charm. Recognising the buildings, college campus of which you have been a part brings a certain unexplained thrill. This splendid feeling is what Ludhianvis are living these days.

The web series, Your Honor currently airing on SonyLiv has been shot in the busy lanes of the industrial city of Ludhiana. One can spot the College Road, the sprawling campus of SCD Government College, market of Model Town and interiors of Pritam Nagar in the web series. The series stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Mita Vashisht, Yashpal Sharma, Varun Badola and Parul Gulati in the lead roles. It is inspired from an Israeli web series, Kvodo.

The antique and iconic white house that still stands tall on the ever-busy College Road is said to be built around the independence times. This is the house where the story has been set and where Jimmy Shergill lives who plays the role of a judicial officer.

Getting nostalgic

Tawinder went nostalgic after watching the series and said so many memories came alive after seeing this house on the screen. “I jumped with joy after seeing this house on the screen since this was the house where my friend used to live. I and my friends used to visit the building frequently during our school and college days. The house is an old-world-charm building and has a British aura around it. I still remember a fireplace in the living room and how we used to chat away our evenings sitting in the cosy room during winters,” she recalls.

“Wish I could bring back that time of the good old days. And, thanks to this web series, I thoroughly enjoyed it and relived

my college days,” she

reminisces.

Fan moments

Roxy, who runs a bakery at College Road, just opposite the house where shooting was done, has had young crowd who would make a beeline at her cafe for obvious reasons. “It was in January that the unit came here and sometimes college students used to sit around in the cafe to anxiously wait for a glimpse of the stars. I am looking forward to watch this series and see my own city and places close to my heart on the big screen,” says Roxy.

Excitement galore

Dharam Singh Sandhu, principal of the SCD College, the same college where Jimmy Shergill drops his son in the story, is also excited to know that the web series is on air. “One of my students told me that the series is currently on air and the students are excited to see their campus on the tv screen. I am planning to take out time and watch the same,” he says.

Matter of pride

City based lawyer Harpreet Sandhu, who is associated with many Bollywood stars and has helped in arranging the shooting of iconic movie Veer Zara at Malerkotla, says that it is always a pleasure to see stars descending to the city for shooting. “I am proud of my city, its culture and always happy to see it on the TV and in films,” he says.

Memories to cherish

Dr Gauhar Vatsyayan, who lives near Rose Garden, says the days of the shooting were special and he cannot forget that time of January. “It is always good to see your city on TV. It was for more than 15 days that the shooting of the sereies was done here and every day I used to see unit buses standing on the road and people gathered around them. It made me feel as if I myself was a part of the series.”
