What made you sign Mind Wars?

I am excited to be a part of Mind Wars. It allows me to do something very different from my earlier projects. With this show, I look forward to interacting with some of our country’s brightest young students as I become a part of their journey of discovering India on a much deeper level through this game show.

What will be the show’s format?

Mind Wars challenges the knowledge of each team about their own state and progressively moves towards other neighbouring states and then the country at large. The competition is among kids studying in standard six to 10.

We have seen a lot of quiz shows on television.

What makes this one different?

Mind Wars puts the spotlight on India’s rich heritage, cultural diversity, geographical expanse, the technological breakthroughs and the innumerable milestones we have crossed on our path to being the ‘India Shining’ that we are proud of. It challenges every participant and every viewer to test their knowledge about their own country.

How challenging is to host a quiz show?

It is quite an enriching experience and I hope all my fans will enjoy seeing me as a host. I hope I can engage the audience and entertain them as well.

You have done theatre as well. Do you think today’s generation has lost interest in theatre?

Theatres pay less and that is why new generation prefer films, television and web.

What made you shift from acting to direction?

During a sitting with Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, they both asked me to direct Poster Boys. So, I took it up as it was something new and exciting.

What do you prefer more – acting or direction?

Acting is my first priority but I love direction because it is a different experience. Poster Boys was my debut movie as a director and I look forward to direct more films in future.
