Nicolas Cage is all set to star in a series based on Joe Exotic from the Netflix docu-series Tiger King. The eight-episode series is being produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. The new series is not the only one looking to cash in on the popularity of Tiger King as there’s another show set to star Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin that’s been in production for months.

Meanwhile, Cage will executive produce the series under his banner. The story revolves around Joe Schreibvogel, aka Joe Exotic, an eccentric, exotic zookeeper in Oklahoma, who fights to keep his park even at the risk of losing his sanity. The series will explore how he became Joe Exotic, and how he lost himself to a character of his own creation.
