Full of life

I will always remember Anjum, not only for her distinctive art style but for her warmth and enthusiasm. Even despite her lengthy battle with cancer she was always full of life and always smiling. I have seen her work evolve over the years – how Anjum internally processed her ailment through her painting. Her previous references to urban ecology organically transformed as she began to process the changes happening in her own body. Though she never intended to make her illness a subject of her work, her paintings spoke volumes of her journey. We will all sorely miss her warm presence – the Art World has lost a rising star.
