Patience is the key, believes actress Anupama Solanki
How do you stay motivated in this highly competitive industry of today?
The industry is competitive, but I believe if I keep working hard and improving, the right role will come. I focus on staying positive and trusting the process. It’s about believing that the right opportunity will arrive at the right time. I think patience is the key.
Acting can be emotionally and financially tough. How do you deal with the struggles?
Acting can definitely be tough, emotionally and financially. There are times when things aren’t going as planned, but I remind myself why I started in the first place. I lean on my family and friends for support, and keep my focus on the bigger picture. I know struggle is a part of the journey.
Rejections are common in the industry. How do you handle them?
Rejection is a part of this industry, and I’ve learned not to take it personally. Every ‘no’ brings me closer to the right ‘yes’. I try to stay focused on what I can control—improving my craft and staying true to myself. If something doesn’t work out, I trust there’s something better coming along.
What do you find most rewarding about being an actor?
The most rewarding part is bringing a character to life and seeing the audience connect with it. It’s an amazing feeling to know that my work can make people feel something— whether it’s laughter, tears or just a moment of joy. The love and appreciation from the audience always make it worth it.
How do you choose your roles?
I believe there’s a balance to be found. Sometimes, practicality takes over, and we have to make decisions for financial reasons or personal growth. But I always try to choose roles that challenge me creatively, even if they don’t align perfectly with my dreams. It’s about finding the right balance between survival and staying true to your craft.
Have you ever faced a phase where you felt like giving up?
There are moments of doubt, but I remind myself why I started. Passion is what keeps me going. I see every setback as a lesson and focus on moving forward. Giving up has never been an option for me.
What advice would you give to aspiring actors?
Be patient and keep working on your craft. Don’t let rejection discourage you because it’s a part of the journey. Stay positive, keep learning and trust that your time will come. Hard work always pays off.
What is your ultimate goal as an actor?
My goal is to grow as an artist and take on roles that challenge me. I want to be part of projects that leave an impact, entertain and inspire people. Success, for me, is about evolving and staying passionate about my craft.
