It’s already a super hit title. Music starts in the sub-conscious mind immediately once you hear it. So, I hope that people will connect to it very easily.

Please take us through your character journey?

My character Goldie is interesting. He is innocent and keeps on making mistakes. He does wrong things while he is on the path of doing right things.

How much do you relate to your character?

In real life, I am not at all like Goldie as I plan things well in advance and don’t get influence by people very easily. So, playing Goldie on screen is actually a task.

Channa Mereya is the talk of the town because of its unique storyline. Share your views.

Yes, absolutely. People have showered so much love to the trailer and everyone is so excited about the show. We are trying our level best.

The show has a big ensemble star cast. How is it working with your co-actors?

The star cast plays a vital role in any project and especially on TV, it is more important as you have to work daily with your co-stars. I am very lucky that my co- stars, Ginni (Niyati Fatnani), Armaan (Shardul Pandit), Rajwant Singh (Puneet Issar) and Aditya (Karan Wahi) are very supportive.

This is your first show under the banner of Yash and Mamta Patnaik. How has been the experience so far?

Yes, it’s the first time that I’m working with Beyond Dreams. I had heard a lot about the production house and it’s a pleasure to work with them. They are gems of producers.

Unique storylines always attract the audiences. Comment.

Storyline is the first thing that the TV audience notices as compared to films. You have to deliver something unique every day to get the audience to watch your show. Once they are glued then you have to be more careful so as to fulfil their demand for entertainment.

What changes have you found in the entertainment industry over the years?

After Covid there has been a major change when it comes to the viewing habit of the audience in general. It has become much more difficult to get people out of their house and spend Rs 500 per person to watch a film as they have become more comfortable watching OTT and TV.

Daily soaps will always have an audience no matter what. What is your viewpoint?

Yes, because it is mostly watched by women who are at home and for them it has become a habit to watch TV daily. And they get connected to the shows and with the characters, and soon start considering them as their family.
