AnushkaKaushik, who is a part of Crash Course, will next be seen in Maharani 2. Here's a chi-chat with the actress
How and when did you discover your talent in acting?
When I was in class 12, I used to mimic a lot. Whether it was a celebrity or any teacher, I was quite good. One of my teachers suggested that I should join Delhi University to pursue dramatics and that’s how it all started.
How has your family supported you?
We are from a small town, Saharanpur. The thought process there is very different from any metro city. My parents are educated and they supported me. I am glad that I have made them proud.
How has been the journey so far? Did you face any struggle?
When I was in Delhi, I had seen and experienced the struggle. I used to get a limited amount of money from home and opt for a samosa over a pizza. So, I know the value of money. But before coming to Mumbai, I did substantial work on YouTube and people knew me from there. Even a director like Tigmanshu Dhulia also mentioned this.
You have worked with stalwarts like Anil Kapoor, Anu Kapoor and Satish Kaushik — what has been your learning from them?
The best part about them is their life experiences. They have seen more life than me. Their experience taught me many things. I am very thankful to them.
Your social media tagline says ‘a girl who orders tawa roti in a five-star hotel’. Can you elaborate it?
In a simple way I can say wherever I go or whatever may be the situation, I will always be connected to my roots.
What will be your tips to all the newcomers who want to pursue acting?
In today’s time everything is accessible with a click. There is too much information available. So, I will give this message to everyone — pick and choose wisely. You should be well aware of your decisions.
