Sheezan Mohammed, who will be seen in Pavitraa Bharose Ka Safar, talks about his role

How will you define your journey in the industry so far?

I started as a background actor in Jodha Akbar. It was not a big role and I hardly had some lines. After that in eight years, I have done four shows as the lead actor. But I believe this is not my final destination and I have a long way to go. I have a lot to learn.

When you decided to become an actor, did your family support you?

Actually, I come from the background of actors. My sister is also an actor. When I decided to join this field, my family supported me a lot. They told me if you want to be good, then you have to give hundred per cent to it.

Out of so many roles that you have performed as an actor, which one is your favourite and why?

It is tough but two characters are my favourite so far — Raghav in Ek Thi Rani Ek Tha Ravan and Arjun Priya from Tara.

What is your most challenging role till date?

The role which got me very nervous was that of Raghav because it was the first time that I was playing a mentally unstable boy.

How did you land a role in Pavitraa Bharose Ka Safar?

I got a call for this role in February and they told me that this character is Meerut-based. I believe this show has been written for me and I consider it a blessing.

What is the show all about?

It is about a girl Pavitraa, who hails from a small town and how she tackles all difficulties in her life with his strength, and grows to be an inspiration to others.

What is your role in the show?

I play the character of Arya. He is determined and whatever he wishes in life, he gets it. He is a spoilt brat from a rich family, who is a politician. He is challenged for the first time in his life by Pavitraa.

How do you prepare for a role?

I believe in homework. If I can’t do justice to the role then what is the point of doing it? I really had to brush my accent for this role.

What have been your learnings from the industry?

One is easily judged in the industry. So, it’s very difficult to stay focused and be committed to your craft. I suggest that do your best and have patience.

What type of role do you see yourself essaying in the future?

Any role that challenges me as an actor is welcome.

What is your strength as an actor?

I am a director’s actor.
