A club by the name Dragonfly, which is situated near Mumbai International Airport, was raided by Mumbai police at 2.50 am on Tuesday. The raid was conducted after the club was kept open beyond the permissible hours. However, post the raid, many people were arrested for not following the norms set by the government during the ongoing pandemic. Reportedly, 34 people were arrested, including singer Guru Randhawa, Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan and cricketer Suresh Raina. They were later on released on bail.
Mumbai Police issued an official statement confirming the news which read, “An offence has been registered u/s 188, 269, 34 IPC and u/s 51 NDMA against 34 persons at Sahar police station after a raid was conducted at 2.50 am at Dragonfly pub, for keeping the establishment open beyond permissible time limit, not following Covid norms such as social distancing, not wearing a face mask.”
Apparently, 19 people out of the ones arrested from the club hail from Delhi and Punjab, while others were from Mumbai itself.
