Summer extravaganza

Summer is on its way andwe have to start planning for suitable cottons to counter the sweltering heat and look elegant at the same time. It’s also the time for exhibitions from various parts of the country. One such cotton extravaganza spearheaded by Weave N Print from New Delhi is Cotton Fab on at Welkom Palace, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana.

The exhibition has displayed works from the finest designers in the country. It has around 50 stalls offering various lifestyle products. Quiet a ‘you name it and you have it’ scenario, the exhibition also has an endless number of handloom items at display. Pick and choose from innumerable colours in countless designs, Pakistani style designer suits, kurties, readymade suits, fabrics with Chikan embroidery, jewellery, fashion accessories, home decor, silk dress material, bed sheets, tableware, etc. It is a real treat for the style-hungry eves.

Besides fabrics, Cotton Fab also showcases ready-to-wear ladies kurtis, salwar kameez, special dupattas, kids ethnic wear and much more. A big attraction is the ethnic ghaghra choli and dhoti-kurta for children. A shopping heaven for the boutique owners, Rajasthan Kota doria, Chanderi, Bhagalpur silk from Bihar, Gujarati handloom products, phool-pati work from Rampur as well as Aligarh and garments with Phulkari work from Patiala are a huge hit with customers. “In this exhibition, we have also added special designer jewellery after studying the Ludhiana market,” says Rakesh, president of the society.

In the home section, one could get Jaipuri bed covers, Gudari tablecloths, printed and woven bedcovers.
