We all believe in luck at some point in life. Coming Friday, the movie Gidarh Singhi will narrate a story that revolves around luck but with a message telling us to believe in ourselves rather than depending on talisman to bring good luck.
According to a belief, gidarh singhi is an object that brings luck and resolves disputes, helps you win your lover and what not. The star cast of the film includes Ravinder Grewal, Jordan Sandhu, Rubina Bajwa, Saanvi Dhiman and Karn Mehta.
Ravinder Grewal, who confesses that his first love will always be singing, is excited to be a part of the movie. He says, “My aim is to work less but do something that is out of the box. I believe in being creative and experimental. That’s the reason I opened my production house. If you see Raula Pai Gaya and Judge Singh LLB, both were produced under RG Productions and offered unique concepts apart from comedy or period films.”
He adds, “Punjabi cinema is changing. There is a variety in the content and experiments are being made. As far as music and lyrics are concerned, we are again going back to our roots and incorporating authentic Punjabi language in our lyrics.”
Calling himself a stage artiste and how he enjoys his stage shows, Ravinder confirms that his upcoming project will include one movie and more songs such as Yaraan Di Support.
Model-turned-actor Saanvi Dhiman, who was last seen in Rupinder Gandhi 2: The Robin Hood, will be playing a cop in the movie. Saanvi prefers to describe herself as an actor, who is still learning. For this role she attended a workshop. Saanvi says, “I don’t just want to look the part I am playing, I want to dig deep into the layers of the character and once I have done that, everything is easy in front of the camera.”
Losing her father at a young age, she juggled a job and her studies. It was on the persistence of a friend she tried out modelling for a music video and the rest, as they say, is history. Saanvi adds, “I try to be a good human being first and be satisfied with what I do.”
Jordan Sandhu is not only acting in this movie but he is also singing most of the songs. The first song by him, Kinni Sohni, is a peppy number while the other one is an emotional number trending among Tik Tok stars. He says, “Working on a subject like Gidarh Singhi was fun. We all tried to give our best and entertain Punjabi audience with a relatable concept.”
On why Ravinder is not singing for the film, he replies, “His character in the movie is of typical rich brat. Someone, who is trying to become a star with the help of his money, rather than his talent.”
