The light of hope for Sushant Singh Rajput’s fans
In the last two months, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family, fans and industry colleagues have kept him alive not only in their memory, but also created enough noise to know the truth on what transpired on that fateful Friday morning of July 14, 2020. The probe, which became one of the biggest social media trials in the country, had its twists and turns as well.
Family reaffirms faith
Sushant Singh Rajput’s family reaffirmed their faith in the ‘robust democracy’ while issuing a statement thanking all who have been supporting them through it all. “Now that the country’s premier investigating agency has taken over, we believe that all those involved in the dastardly crime will be brought to justice. Today’s development reaffirmed our faith in India as a robust democracy,” read part of the statement.
After what seems like a long wait, the Supreme Court on Wednesday pronounced its verdict to transfer Sushant Singh Rajput’s death probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Following the verdict, Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti took to social media and wrote, “Here we go!! Finally!! CBI for SSR!! #CBITakesOver.”
Rhea’s lawyer welcomes decision
On behalf of Rhea Chakraborty, her lawyer, senior advocate Satish Manshinde issued a statement, “The Hon’ble Supreme Court after examining the facts and circumstances of the case and the report of the Mumbai police, has observed that it will be the desired justice as Rhea herself called for a CBI investigation. The Hon’ble Supreme Court also observed that due to the allegations made by the two states of political interference against each other, it would be in the interest of justice to hand over the case to the CBI.”
Several Bollywood celebs also hailed SC’s decision and expressed their joy on social media. Kangana Ranaut’s team was the first to tweet: “Humanity wins, congratulations to each one of SSR warriors, first time I felt such strong force of collective consciousness… #CBITakesOver.”
‘It’s vindication of truth’
Bollywood actor Shekhar Suman says the Supreme Court order for a CBI probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput case is a vindication of truth. He feels the CBI is going to have a tough task investigating the case all over again. “I feel joyous and exhilarated. I woke up to this great news and we were quite sure that this would happen, that the Supreme Court would give a verdict in our favour and he did. When 1.3 billion people get together, there is no stopping,” Shekhar said. IANS
Akshay Kumar tweeted, “SC directs CBI to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. May the truth always prevail #Prayers.” Sushant’s Dil Bechara co-star Sanjana Sanghi took to her Instagram story and wrote, “A treacherously painful two months later, finally- the judgement of justice. #GlobalPrayers4SSR. All the strength, peace and love to you for the path towards the truth that lies ahead @shwetasinghkirti and the entire family.”
Actress Ankita Lokhande shared a picture of ‘Lady Justice’ and wrote, “Justice is the truth in action… Truth wins …. #1ststeptossrjustice.”
Kriti Sanon also took to social media and wrote, “… Supreme Court’s order to let the CBI investigate Sushant’s case is a ray of hope that the truth will finally shine. Let’s all have faith, stop speculating & let the CBI do their work now! #CBIForSSR.”
On the other hand, Anupam Kher tweeted, “Jai Ho…” while Parineeti Chopra wrote, “This is a positive step. Please let’s respect this moment, and let the CBI do their work now.” – TNS
