A dentist of international repute, Dr Vivek Saggar, says the first two days of the lazy lockdown period were spent watching movies but then he rediscovered his love for his DSLR camera, and he took it out to capture birds in and around his farmhouse in South City.

Clicking birds and landscapes filled his days. “It is unbelievable that in this period I have managed to take pictures of 110 species of rare and common birds,” quips the doctor. What’s more! He has spotted an E Bird, which is the fourth one to be spotted in India so far.

Petal perfect

A blooming spring garden led a few like-minded persons to make a Whatsapp group called Flower Lovers. As flower enthusiast Ballie Kler, owner of a kindergarten school, shares “Since the lockdown, the first thing I do in the morning is look at new blooms, creepers and bushes and share those shots with other flower lovers through Whatsapp and Facebook.”

Colour me bright

Reflection and colour are what Kitty Bector from the house of Cremica has been trying to capture. Bector, with her new-found passion for photography, has been sharing her clicks with other flower lovers in the group.

“The motivation level grew every day in the lockdown period and now I know it is here to stay,” she says.

Fruitful mornings

Ripi Chhatwal of Shahnaaz Herbal utilised the lockdown time to click not only her exotic flowers but also fruits like loquats and plums grown in pots. “As I have my morning cup of tea, I am tempted to capture the beauty of flowers, fruits and ferns,” she says. Recently she had clicked a yellow rose plant with 25 buds and captioned the picture as Zoom Meeting!

Catching the big cat

“Exploring and capturing wildlife is a passion, which has added adventure to my life,” says prominent businessman Deepinder S Ranger. It was a trip to Ranthambore, which ignited the passion in him. Depinder and his wife Kiran have been exploring nature parks both in India and aboard.

The lockdown has given Ranger the time to research and arrange his photographs taken with his very sophisticated cameras. He has shared them on his Facebook page, titled Big Cat Diary and Tiger Lovers Page.
