Prajakta Koli started with a dream of becoming the most successful radio jockey in the country, but then, as they say, life happened and today she is a successful YouTuber and a budding actress. Her subscribers are about to touch six million mark and Prajakta, who is currently in Chandigarh, believes the journey has just begun.

Her mantra of success

As a content creator: Prajakta Koli has interacted with the who’s who in the world. She loves every minute of travelling and meeting amazing people.

Be invested in what you do: One of my very first collaborations was with Ayushmann Khurrana. At his stature, he could have just waltzed in, done the script and be off, but he gave those extra 20-30 minutes to discuss the script, add a joke, remove another. I learnt from him how invested one could be in one’s craft and that makes all the difference.

Remain yourself: I was literally shuddering as I met Michelle Obama, but how she made herself so relatable like just another ordinary girl was amazing to witness.

Not average at all: My parents always insisted not to be average, below average chalega, and so would exceptional, but not average; get noticed, they preached and that’s been my motto.

The City Beautiful is keeping Prajakta ‘MostlySane’ just like her YouTube name. Here for about a month for the shooting of Jug Jug Jiyo, Prajakta is having the time of her life — great food, amazingly warm people; this actor-content creator is sure enjoying it all!

How it all began…

“I was quite shocked when my only dream ever didn’t work. Call it a timely intervention, Sudeep from One Digital Entertainment reached out to me for creating content for YouTube and the rest is history.” Reaching millions of subscribers, Prajakta’s No Offence for YouTube’s Creators for Change programme reached the United Nations headquarters and what followed was more recognition. “To be honest, all I ever wanted was to have 30,000 subscribers on YouTube! When I was growing up there was nothing called a YouTuber, but today it is one amazing platform. There is so much on the internet, but people subscribe to my stuff and that’s what makes me what I am today.”

Content creation to acting is one tough journey, adds Prajakta, “As a YouTuber, I am writing, acting and directing my stuff with a very amazing team. Starting with Mismatched, I realised there is so much more, which also prepared me for a stint in Jug Jug Jiyo. I am learning as I move on.”

Ask her what next and she says, “I don’t know and that makes the possibilities endless.”
