Actor Jimmy Sharma from Ludhiana is worried about the daily wagers. He says, “While we can afford all the luxuries at home, daily wagers like dancers and spot boys are suffering because of the pandemic. I talked to Malkeet Rauni, senior actor and general secretary of North-Zone Film and TV Artist Association (NZFTAA). I am looking forward to meet him and Gurpreet Ghuggi, president of the association, to discuss the matter and help out those people. I think we need to prepare ourselves for such situations. The right steps taken now can avoid similar life threatening consequences in future.”

On the personal front, Jimmy expects to resume shootings for the pending projects and hit the gym. He adds, “Even though I have a mini gym at my house, there is nothing like going to the gym and working out with friends.”

Work in progress

For singer Jagmeet Bhullar, the lockdown brought him closer to riyaaz. Jagmeet, who is pursuing Master’s in music from Punjabi University, Patiala, says, “With shows and songs, there is never enough time to practise classical music. But, I have promised myself to make time for riyaaz twice a week after the lockdown.”

Born and brought up in Patiala, he is spending time with family and helping them in household chores.

To serve the nation

Urvi Sharma is an all-rounder, who wants to serve the nation. Currently pursuing MA English from Panjab University, Chandigarh, Urvi is an NCC cadet, a dancer and a sportsperson.

Spending the lockdown time back home in Jalandhar, Urvi says, “This pandemic has made us realise that everything in this world is so uncertain. When I was selected for Republic Day parade in 2019, it motivated me to serve the nation. I have promised myself to do my bit to serve the mankind. I am preparing myself to appear in various competitive exams. And I will follow my passion by joining the Armed forces.”

Urvi is also into fitness. She adds, “During the quarantine, I have shared my workout videos to motivate others. I will continue to motivate them after the lockdown.”

Beauty in her mind

Shazia Thakur, a model based in Amritsar, has been oscillating between lethargy and vigour throughout the lockdown. She explains, “It was a break but too long a break. It brought me close to nature, my family and finally to myself. After the lockdown, I will try to participate in national-level beauty pageant, work on fitness, maintain a healthy lifestyle and meet new people, since I missed out on so much during the lockdown. In addition,

if I can conduct some motivational sessions in schools, I would be more than happy.”
