Eleven couples tied the nuptial knot during a function organised by an NGO at Ram Talai Chhapar near here on Sunday. During the event, an oath was taken in response to an appeal made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s wife, Gurpreet Kaur Mann, and Dr Parminder Kaur Gajjanmajra, the chief guests of the function.

“While greeting the couples on starting a new phase of their life, I wish to urge them to adopt patience and contentment as the basic elements of their lifestyle, as these are the two worthiest ornaments of life, which can make one’s life smooth and happy,” said Gurpreet, appreciating NGO Samay Sewa Samiti for having shared the responsibility of hundreds of poor parents in arranging the marriage of their wards without any discrimination.
