Ekam’s father Jasvir Singh Aujla said he had been receiving congratulatory messages since his son achieved the success.

He said, “Ekam used to practice for 2 to 3 hours every day. I encouraged him a lot and after months of hard work, Ekam tasted success,” said Aujla. He added that Ekam doesn’t waste time on cellphone or other electronic gadgets and also likes swimming and football.

Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond also honoured Ekam for his performance at an event held at Nasrali. Sond said children were future of the nation and parents should motivate them to take part in sporting activities.
