The Ludhiana Senior Citizens’ Conclave distributed merit-cum-means scholarships among 123 needy students from 13 girls colleges, a high school, and a senior secondary school, amounting to Rs 5,60,000 in a ceremony held at the Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust.

Members of the conclave said distributing scholarships was a yearly feature with the aim of serving the marginalised sections of society. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, chief patron; Dr RL Narang, general secretary; and NC Jain, finance secretary of the conclave, distributed the scholarships. Colonel RK Jain, president, thanked the members of the conclave for contributing towards the scholarships. He also shared highlights of the scholarship scheme. Since its inception the senior citizens’ conclave has engaged in the upliftment of the needy.
