14 artists showcase talent at painting workshop in Ludhiana

As part of the Punjab Mahotsav series, ‘Rebooting Punjab’, Lalit Kala Parishad and Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi presented a remarkable painting exhibition titled ‘Contemplation: A Journey Within’ at Punjabi Bhawan, Ludhiana. The extraordinary showcase brought together 14 talented artists from Ludhiana, offering an immersive experience of creativity, introspection and cultural expression.

The exhibition was inaugurated with great enthusiasm by Kulwant Singh, retired professor from Government College for Girls, Ludhiana.

Featuring an eclectic mix of artistic styles and mediums — including graphic art, sculptures, miniature paintings, primitive art, photography, experimental works and depictions of native life — this event provides a visually enriching experience for art connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.

The convener of the event was Prof Parveen Kumar, member of the General Council Committee, Punjab Lalit Kala Akademy, Chandigarh. The exhibition was organised under the guidance of Swarnjit Savi, chairperson of Punjab Kala Parishad, and Gurdeep Dhiman, president of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi. Karuna Mohindra

graced the event as the guest of honour.

Participating artists included Karuna Mohindra, Gurpreet Singh Mankoo, Jaspreet Mohan Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Gurpreet Dhaliwal, Jagpreet Singh, Ravinder Ravi, Gurbax Singh, Martin Victor, Gurpreet Verma, Harpreet Kaur, Sonjeet Kaur, Amanjot Gill and Sukhandeep Kaur.

This exhibition serves as a testament to Punjab’s rich artistic heritage while embracing modern creative expressions. It invited visitors to embark on a journey of contemplation and self-discovery through art.

The artists created masterpieces with full enthusiasm. They showcased their amazing talent by working in different mediums and on different themes.

Some of them depicted nature, animals, soul reflection through portraits while some were working in abstract themes in their creations reflecting the culture and ethos of Punjab.

They all were working in different mediums such as oil, charcoal, acrylic and other media.

Art lovers visited the show and learned different things from them and their artwork.

The closing ceremony of two-day painting workshop was carried out in a grand manner.
